Résumé
Polymer recycling is essential for waste management and resource preservation since it turns plastic waste into valuable new materials. However, expanding its application faces many challenges, such as inefficient sorting, limited market demand, high recycling costs, and the complex chemical nature of some polymers leading to inferior recycled products. This chapter critically examines these obstacles while reviewing current recycling methods, market dynamics, and the recyclability issues of certain polymers. It emphasizes the need for ongoing research to improve recycling techniques, thereby promoting a sustainable resource-efficient future and circular economy.
