Abstract
This work proposes a new practical algorithm to evaluate the seismic stability of concrete gravity dams. The objective is to quickly determine the non-linear seismic response of a gravity dam with one or more sliding interfaces located at the dam-rock interface and/or at uplift. Current simplified methods generally do not include sliding at various non-linear interfaces, which may have a major impact on the outcome of dam seismic stability analyses.
