Mieux comprendre l'offre et la demande de déplacements interurbains au Québec

Every mobility survey in Quebec is built to measure urban travel, but there is currently no systematic data source on long distance travel in Quebec. These trips, also called "intercity trips" are neglected and are therefore not taken into account in decision-making, thus neglecting, for example, their environmental impact. Meanwhile, the world of intercity transportation in Quebec is changing, as we are observing a decline in the bus industry and an emergence of carpooling. The purpose of this project is to develop methods and tools that will be used to analyze the supply and demand for intercity bus travel in Quebec, and that will be used by bus operators as well as transport systems planners. In this context, this research project aims to develop some methodological bases that will be deepened in the next three years.
